Community Colleges Initiative
Launched in 2020, the VF Foundation funded a scholarship program at the Fashion Scholarship Fund (FSF) to identify and support three students enrolled in two-year community colleges who have aspirations to pursue careers in the fashion and fashion-adjacent industries. In 2024, we are pleased to partner with PVH, True Religion and the VF Foundation to fund scholarships for Community College students. The scholarship program reflects the industry’s keen interest in expanding the pipeline of talented future employees, especially those from backgrounds underrepresented in these industries. Students in general areas applicable to the fashion industry (including marketing and business operations) are eligible.
FSF's Community Colleges Initiative, piloted in 2022, seeks to demonstrate the potential of community colleges as an important pipeline of talent for the industry. Without affirmative action at the college level, it’s more important than ever that we work to support diverse talent as early on in their journeys as we can, and this program is doing just that. Eligibility requirements, selection process, timeline and FAQ’s can be found below.
How It Works
THE FSF COMMUNITY COLLEGE INITIATIVE OFFERS STUDENTS:
An introduction to the industry’s sectors, range of career paths and different job disciplines in the industry
An opportunity to practice professional skills in an area of personal interest
Mentors and a strong network of peers, professionals and educators
Eligibility for future FSF Scholarships
STUDENTS WHO APPLY AND ARE ACCEPTED MAY RECEIVE:

“Everyone, from the FSF staff to the other students to the fashion leaders we interacted with, were amazing, friendly, unique, and welcoming. The diverse group of students created a fun and inclusive atmosphere. Each of us absorbed as much information as possible from this invaluable experience. But, above all, we all shared dreams, goals, and the willingness to utilize this opportunity as a stepping stone toward achieving them.”
