The Fashion Scholarship Fund (“FSF,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects the privacy rights of its online visitors (“you,” “your,” or “yours”) and recognizes the importance of protecting the information collected about them. This Privacy Policy addresses the use and disclosure of personal information we collect from you, including how such information is collected and securely stored, when it is shared with others, and how you can request its correction or deletion.
What information do we collect and how is it used?
The Fashion Scholarship Fund collects, stores, uses, discloses, and protects personal information through the FSF website at fashionscholarshipfund.org, the FSF Scholarship Competition and submission website at webportalapp.com/sp/login/27_fashionscholarshipfund (the “Submission Site”), the FSF University platform at careercatalyst.asu.edu/programs/fsf-unlocking-hidden-potential, and any other FSF website, online form, portal, or service that links to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Sites”). The Sites may be operated for FSF by a third-party service provider. The service provider may process that information on FSF’s behalf and may also maintain its own privacy policy governing information it collects or processes for its own purposes.
We also collect and store information from individuals who register their information on the Sites, engage with us through social media, participate in our programs or events, or who make contributions or purchases online. This information may include your name, postal address, zip or postal code, email address, telephone number, date of birth, demographic and background information (such as college and college major or professional experience), organizational affiliation and professional title, social media accounts, submitted job listings (including organization, title, description, and contact information), and/or your purchase/donation history.
In order to make a donation or purchase, you may be required to provide certain payment-related information which may include a credit card number, expiration date, billing ZIP code, bank information, and similar information (“Billing Information”). Such Billing Information will be collected and processed by our third-party payment processors pursuant to the terms and conditions of their privacy policies and terms of use. We do not directly collect or store complete payment card or bank account credentials, although we may receive limited billing and transaction information from payment processors.
We may collect photographs, headshots, audio or video recordings, and other media that individuals choose to submit through our Sites, forms, or other online services. We may use these materials to administer our programs, maintain participant or constituent records, and for any additional purposes disclosed at the time of submission. With the individual’s permission, we may also use materials in publications, reports, websites, social media, promotional materials, or other communications. We may share materials with service providers that assist us with website hosting, data storage, communications, printing, social media, or program administration, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-security requirements. We retain these materials as they pertain to program participants for archival and historical purposes and other materials only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law.
This information is used to process and provide the products and services that you have ordered or requested, to validate program submissions, to facilitate engagement in programs, to send order confirmations, and to populate information provided on our Sites such as job listings or Scholar listings. This information also may be used for our own marketing and internal business purposes, and to contact you about programs and events, organizational updates, and giving opportunities, unless you have opted not to receive promotional communications in connection with the Sites. To serve you better, we may combine information you give us with other information that we have previously collected from you.
We may collect and store certain other information automatically whenever you interact with the Sites. This information may include your device type, browser type, IP address, browsing activities, time spent on the site, and/or traffic patterns. Also, like many websites, we use “cookies,” which are files stored on your computer’s hard drive by your browser. This may include “persistent” or “session” cookies, as well as “first-party” cookies and “third-party” cookies. This information is used to manage user accounts, to analyze and improve the Sites and to enable certain functionalities for users while using the Sites. Most browsers accept cookies automatically but allow you to disable them.
How long is your information stored?
We will not retain your data longer than is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or as required by applicable laws or regulations. Upon receiving a request from you, we will delete personal information as required by applicable law, subject to legal, contractual, operational, archival, and record-retention requirements.
When do we share your information with others?
We do not share with others, or sell or rent to others, any personal information that you provide to us through the Sites except with your consent or as described in this Privacy Policy.
We may share your personal information with our partners in connection with FSF program opportunities (such as building Mentor or recruiter connections or participating in partner events), but we will never share your payment information with third-party marketers.
The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination inside or outside the U.S. Data we collect may also be processed by staff operating inside or outside the U.S. who work for us, our partners, or for one of our service providers. Such staff may be engaged in, among other things, the fulfillment of your order, the processing of your payment details and the provision of services. At all times, we take reasonable steps to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
We may engage third parties to perform services in connection with the operation of our business. Examples of these services include Competition judging, FSF University evaluation, Mentorship Program coordination and tracking, payment processing and authorization, fraud protection and credit risk reduction, order fulfillment, marketing and promotional material distribution, website evaluation, and data analysis. We disclose personal information to these third parties as reasonably necessary for them to provide services to us.
You should also be aware that we may disclose specific information about you if required to do so by law, governmental request, process or court order or based on our good faith belief that it is necessary to conform or comply with such law, request or court order or to protect the users of our Sites or the public.
How can you restrict the sharing of your personal information?
If you would prefer that we not share your personal information with our program partners, please contact us at info@fashionscholarshipfund.org with your request, including your name, email and applicable postal addresses. Please note that participation in FSF programs may be impacted or limited if we are unable to share your information with individuals involved in implementing programs (such as volunteer FSF Mentors or FSF Partner recruiters).
How do we safeguard your personal information?
The security of your information is very important to us, and we will only collect personally identifiable information to the extent we deem necessary to serve you in view of our legitimate business purposes as set out above.
We implement and maintain appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized or unlawful processing and use, and against accidental loss, destruction, damage, theft or disclosure, including encryption of information transmitted through our Sites where appropriate. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the unlikely event of a security breach compromising your personally identifiable information, we will provide legally required notices in accordance with applicable law.
Is information collected from children?
The Sites are not intended or directed to children under the age of 13. We do not collect any personal information from anyone who we know to be under the age of 13. If a child under age 13 submits personal information, a parent or guardian may contact us, and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
How can you correct or delete your personal information?
We will correct your personal information or delete it as requested by you and required by applicable law, subject to legal, contractual, operational, archival, and record-retention requirements. Privacy Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. FSF will post the revised policy, update the date and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by applicable law.
