Margaux Stickney

Florida State University, 2018 FSF Scholar

From St. Petersburg, Florida, Margaux Stickney attended Florida State University Honors College where she received a Bachelors of Science in Marketing, Cum Laude with minors in Economics and English. In her junior year she entered the Fashion Scholarship Fund competition with winning case study: UNIF in Harajuku: Examining the expansion of Los Angeles-based fashion designer and retailer, UNIF, into the Japanese fashion market through the Harajuku neighborhood in Tokyo and the Web. Margaux was able to intern with Perry Ellis’ marketing department at Perry Ellis International the next summer through a connection from the FSF mentorship program.

After graduation, Margaux moved to New York City and worked as a marketing project coordinator for the Ann Taylor and LOFT brands at Ann Inc. After a year of learning about marketing and creative processes and projects, she moved to J.Crew Factory at J.Crew Group to first work as a Store Marketing Assistant before transitioning to Digital Marketing. As Digital Marketing Assistant Margaux works on paid media channels such as Facebook, Google, TikTok, and affiliates and runs organic social media content and strategy with a focus on customer acquisition.

Outside of work, Margaux enjoys playing tennis, thrift shopping, and exploring her neighborhood of Park Slope, Brooklyn. She credits the FSF with a lot of where she is today: “The FSF connected me with key industry relationships that gave me the foot in the door I needed at a crucial time in my career. I didn’t know anyone in the city or the industry before FSF, and without the relationships I was able to build in the FSF Alumni and mentor community I don’t know where I would be. I’m forever grateful for the help of the organization, as well as Nancy McKay, Michael Setola, and Oscar Feldenkreis for helping me start my career journey.”
